ACCOMMODATION
Latvia Culture College cannot guarantee student a living-space as LCC does not have its own student dormitories. So we are suggesting to search for some flat or hostel. Please contact LCC Erasmus coordinator to assist with finding accommodation.
HEALTH INSURANCE AND VISA
International students are required to have medical insurance.
EU students shall have European Health Insurance Card – a free card that gives you access to medically necessary, state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in any of the 28 EU countries, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, under the same conditions and at the same cost (free in some countries) as people insured in that country. Cards are issued by student’s national health insurance provider.
Non-EU students are required to obtain visas to enter Latvia.

ESN (ERASMUS STUDENT NETWORK)
ESN Riga, established in 2003, is an official representative of Erasmus Student Network in Latvia that primarily cooperates with the University of Latvia, but has been working with the international departments of other Latvian universities since 2007. Its primary goals are to represent the interests of international students studying in Latvia and to help them become part of the local community.
Erasmus+ student in Riga may apply for ESN card. This card is used in 37 countries by more than 120 000 people every year with the number increasing every year. The primary objective of the ESN card is to support international students and provide them with opportunities during and after their exchange which is usually provided by discounts and vouchers.
ESN Riga like many other sections gives exchange students a chance to apply for his/ her personalised ESN card.
An ESN card can be attained by filling in the ESN Riga mailing list for the current semester ( ESN Riga Application Form) and visiting the ESN Riga Office at the University of Latvia (Raiņa Blvd. 19, Room 151) during the office hours to receive your card. The card costs EUR 8,00 and requires a photo. The card and its discounts become active the moment the card is received and registered at http://esncard.org!
ISIC CARD
Students of Latvian Culture College at the LAC as their student’s card is using internationally recognised ISIC (International Student Idendityt card).
During their stay in Riga, Erasmus+ student may apply for the College’s ISIC card – the student should receive refference that approves student’s status as Erasmus+ student, then studen shall go to 4 Torņa Street, building C1, room 101, Riga, LV-1050. To make an ISIC card, a photo and a document proving student’s identity are required. The card costs EUR 5, and it takes no longer than 10 minutes to have it made.
