Launch of the project TSSTrip: Tourism Security and Sustainability Training Innovations trough Academia and Industry Co-operation
On October 17, with a virtual ZOOM meeting the implementation of a new project TSSTrip was launched, the goal of which is the development of innovative training material in the field of tourism safety and sustainability, including interactive courses, video materials, training manuals and other resources that will promote the improvement of knowledge and skills in cultural events and tourism for those studying in the sector and those in the working environment.
Specific objectives of the project are:
- To provide innovative learning offers in higher education focusing on sustainable tourism and security
- To enhance knowledge provided by higher education and to strengthen university-business cooperation
- To improve students´ employability and educational and industry standards for tourism education in the project countries
Over the next 24 months the project will implement:
- Set-up of transnational cooperation network of tourism and education sector stakeholders
- Baseline analysis for the updating and improvement of the training in tourism and hospitality &safety and sustainability development aspect
- Development of course content and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for providing flexible training trough micro-credentials
- Online training for students and in-service specialists on how to organize and provide safe and sustainable tourism package services
