LCC Collaboration with Tbilisi State Academy of Arts
On September 29th, Mrs. Sandra Plota, director of the Latvian College of Culture, had a meeting with Mr. George Gugushvili, the rector of the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Mrs. Sandra Plota was invited by the rector and the main goal for the meeting was to discuss and plan further cooperation between both institutions. During the meeting, both parties discussed possible exchange programs for teachers, international experience possibilities for students, exhibitions from Georgian artists in Latvia, as well as other art intercultural project ideas.
From October 17th to 21st, two lecturers from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, Ana Chakvetadze and Nino Mgaloblishvili, will attend the Latvian Culture College, they will lecture and lead workshops in fashion design.
Within the framework of the lectures, students will be introduced to the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, they will have lectures and discussions about the collaboration of art and fashion, expression of various art movements of the XX century in fashion design, semiotic material in the post-Soviet fashion, and how to find inspiration in fashion design. Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to take part in creative workshops. The project is being implemented within the Erasmus+ program.
