Latvian College of Culture at the Latvian Academy of Culture (LCC) was founded in 1946<\/strong> as Riga Technical School of Culture and Education Employees. After 4 years study graduates received diploma of special secondary education. Students could apply for studies after 7 years study at elementary school. During their studies in Technical School they acquired not only specialized and comprehensive study courses but also military lessons. After graduation, graduates could work in Culture centers and institutions and in public and children\u2019s libraries.<\/p>\n

After several years without its own building, in 1958<\/strong> Riga Technical School of Culture and Education Employees was granted building in Bru\u0146inieku Street 57 \u2013 it is the same building where is placed the successor of Riga Technical School \u2013 LCC. Since 1962 changed requirements for admission \u2013 it varied in accordance with study department, nevertheless it was 7 or 8 years study at elementary school or secondary education.<\/p>\n

During the 70\u2019s<\/strong> and 80\u2019s<\/strong> in Riga Technical School of Culture and Education Employees students could gain diploma leaders (directors) of dance and amateur groups and collectives, leaders of wind orchestra, there was also cinema \u2013 photo department. <\/div><\/div>

According to the rapid changes in political situation, Riga Technical School of Culture and Education Employees was reorganized 1990<\/strong> and some innovative curriculums were developed and introduced relevant to the demands of the new economical situation and labor market. In 1991<\/strong> Latvian Culture School was founded. Due to the demands of the actual needs of labor market, the Tourism department was founded in 1994.<\/p>\n

In 1999<\/strong> was framed new study program that allow students to gain Culture manage specialization.<\/p>\n

In 2002<\/strong> Latvian Culture School was reorganized into Latvian College of Culture that became one of the first colleges founded by the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers \u2013 higher education institution that offers first level professional higher education.<\/p>\n

Since 1 January, 2012<\/strong> Latvian College of Culture has become an agency of Latvian Academy of Culture with the full name \u2013 Latvian College of Culture at the Latvian Academy of Culture.<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n
