Latvian College of Culture and Tbilisi State Academy of Arts enhance cooperation within the framework of Erasmus+ project for mobilities between Program and Partner countries
On December 21, 2015 Latvian College of Culture and Tbilisi State Academy of Arts has signed an Inter-institutional agreement for cooperation within the framework of Erasmus+ project for implementation exchange activities for participants from Program and Partner countries.
The first activity – exchange of academic staff has taken place in the period of April 25 till April 29 – Professor Teimuraz Jorjadze, founder and head of the trend “Lighting and Colour in Architectural Design” at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, was visiting Latvian College of Culture.
During his visit, professor was giving lectures on topic “Lighting in Architectural Design” for College’s students in specialization of Lighting Design. Participants gained insight into the new specialty in architecture – its origins, main directions, trends. The participants also gained knowledge on usage of light and colour in creating architectural design, as well as specific examples and concreate project realisations were discussed. Professor and students also mane an analysis of the industry, that revealed basic principles of usage of lightning for planning and implementing the architectural projects.
Lectures were attended by students and academic staff members, who gave positive feedback on the subject and content of the lectures, as well as expressed their hope for the opportunity to attend similar lectures in the nearest future.
Latvian College of Culture and Tbilisi State Academy of Arts are projects partners since year 2013 when both institutions worked together to create new study program “Lightning Architecture”. As the cooperation was very productive and successful, the new cooperation forms have been looked for – EU Programme Erasmus+ is one of them.
During his visit, Professor T. Jorjadze was meeting the representatives of teaching and administrative staff of Latvian College of Culture to discuss further cooperation possibilities within the field of academic and teaching staff exchange.
Lectures “Lighting and Colour in Architectural Design” was implemented by Latvian College of Culture within the framework of Erasmus+ program and co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
Erasmus+ is the EU Programme, implemented by the European Commission, in the fields of education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020. It provides funding and support for organisations to operate projects consistent with its objectives and which encourage European exchange, co-operation and learning. Erasmus+ is funded by the European Union. Erasmus+ funding is available to all sectors (or fields) of formal, informal and non-formal education. Since year 2015, Erasmus+ funding is available for international cooperation for projects between Program and Partner countries.
